KEKUATAN DAN KEBAJIKAN

Kekuatan adalah ketahanan seseorang ketika mendapatkan beban berat bukan hanya secara jasmani tetapi juga secara bathiniah maupun kejiwaan, kekuatan dapat terjadi bilamana ada dorongan besar dari luar ataupun dari dalam pribadi yang membuat seseorang tersebut membentuk tembok pertahanan sehingga ia akan dapat menghadapinya. (Suzzana, 2015)

Adapun kebajikan yang diungkap dalam Psikologi Positif Peterson & Seligman terdiri atas enam hal, yang didalamnya memiliki 24 kekuatan karakter individu yang bersifat universal. Enam kebajikan tersebut adalah wisdom & knowledge, courage, humanity, justice, temperance, dan transcendence . Kemudian secara unik pada setiap individu akan membentuk kekuatan khas (signature  ). (Suzzana, 2015).[1]

Mengapa Kekuatan dan Kebajikan Penting?

Setiap Individu membutuhkan identifikasi terhadap kekuatan (strength ) dan kebajikan (virtue ) yang dimiliki dan digunakan diberbagai aspek kehidupan untuk dapat menghayati kebahagian. Kekuatan (Strength ) dan kebajikan (virtue ) merupakam karakter positif yang mampu menghasilkan perasaan positif dan gratifikasi. Kemauan dan usaha yang dilakukan individu dalam melakukan suatu kebajikan akan mendatangkan inspirasi dan perasaan yang melambungkan.[2] (Suzzana, 2015)

Kebajikan (Virtue )

Kebajikan adalah karakteristik inti yang ditelusuri dan dihargai oleh filsuf moral dan  . Berdasarkan catatan sejarah, keenam kebajikan ini sudah ada dan dipelajari sejak dulu. Kebajikan bersifat universal dan ada di dalam setiap budaya, akan tetapi setiap budaya akan memaknai kebajikan yang ada dengan cara pandang yang berbeda. (Stevani dan Widyatmoko, 2017)

Kebajikan (wisdom ), keberanian (courage ), kemanusian (humanity) , Keadilan (justice) , kesederhanaan (temperance  ), dan transedensi (transcendence ). Keenam Kebajikan (Virtue) ini bersifat universal yang terus berkembang secara biologis dalam evolusi. (darajat, 1986)

Kekuatan Karater (Chacarter  Strength)

Kekuatan Kara  (Chacarter Strength)  adalah bagian dari psikis yang berisi proses atau mekanisme psikologi yang mendefinisikan kebajikan (virtue ) atau dengan kata lain yang membentuk jalan dalam menampilkan kebajikan (virtue ). Kekuatan karakter (character  ) berbentuk positive trait yang terdapat dalam diri individu.[3] (A.Nggili, 2015)
