Rabu (13/2/2019), mahasiswa Program Studi Psikologi Pendidikan Sekolah Pascasarjana UPI angkatan 2018 kedatangan dosen tamu pada mata kuliah Statistika Terapan. Dosen tamu tersebut merupakan dosen statistika dari Belanda, Prof. Hans Vos menyampaikan kuliah tentang bagaimana penggunaan statistika untuk dalam penelitian khususnya dalam penelitian psikologi pendidikan.

Prof. Hans Vos merupakan salah satu profesor dari University of Twente Belanda. Ia mengunjungi Indonesia sebagai visiting professor selama kurang lebih dua bulan di Sekolah Pascasarjana UPI. Setelah sebelumnya mengisi kuliah umum tentang sistem pendidikan di Belanda, pada kesempatan ini Prof. Hans Von berbagi ilmu tentang ilmu statistika yang menjadi salah satu keahlian beliau dalam bidang Matematika dan Ilmu Manajemen.

Kegiatan ini disambut antusias oleh mahasiswa karena memperoleh pengalaman yang berbeda dari biasanya. Tidak hanya itu Prof. Hans Vos selaku dosen tampaknya juga sangat antusias membagi ilmunya dalam matakuliah pagi itu. Bahkan katanya ia sengaja membeli baju batik sebagai bentuk antusiasme menghadiri kelas dan rasa bangganya bisa kembali berkunjung ke Indonesia.

Menurut salah seorang mahasiswa, Prof. Hans Vos menyampaikan materi dengan jelas. “ Beliau memaparkan materi dengan sederhana dan sangat jelas karena materi dielaborasi dari akar sampai kepada teori yang kita ketahui sekarang”, Papar Cheryl salah satu mahasiswa yang mengambil perkuliahan Statistika Terapan.

Hal serupa juga dirasakan Alya,” Prof. Hans Vos memberikan kuliah sangat atraktif, rinci, dan runut,” paparnya. Meskipun merasa sedikit ada kendala bahasa namun pengalaman ini menjadi hal baru yang berkesan baginya. “Meskipun sempat bikin kening berkerut tapi bisa merasakan kuliah dari seorang ahli sudah suatu keberuntungan bagi saya.” Papar Alya.

Hadirnya Prof. Hans ternyata menambah optimisme mahasiswa yang hadir pada saat itu, “Ternyata ilmu yang kita pelajari selama ini tidak jauh berbeda dengan yang di pelajari di Belanda sana,” papar Bu Lisni, salah satu mahasiswa. “Artinya kita sebagai mahasiswa Indonesia juga bisa maju asalkan mau serius belajar terhadap apa yang bisa kita tekuni. Ini menjadi suatu kebanggaan bagi saya membuka wawasan lain, tidak hanya sekadar materi perkuliahan” Tambahnya. Kehadiran dosen tamu Prof. Hans ini berakhir dengan kegiatan foto bersama dengan seluruh kelas. (Fadhilla, 2018)
