KONSEP DIAGNOSTIK KESULITAN BELAJAR

Konsep Diagnostik

Diagnosis merupakan suatu upaya identifikasi yang menekankan pada kinerja belajar peserta didik atau menunjukkan berbagai jenis penyebab kesulitan belajar serta alternatif strategi pengajaran remidial yang efektif dan efisien, dengan diagnostik seorang pendidik dapat mengambil sebuah keputusan dari informasi yang relevan secara instruksional (Geller, Shivraj, Basaraba, & Yovanoff, 2019). Menurut Harriman dalam bukunya Handbook of Psychological Term, diagnosis merupakan suatu analisis terhadap kelainan dari pola gelaja-gelajanya. Berdasarkan pernyataan tersebut, maka dapat dinyatakan bahwa diagnosis merupakan penentuan jenis masalah dengan meneliti latar belakang penyebabnya dengan cara menganalisis gejala-gelaja yang tampak.

Kesulitan Belajar

Kesulitan belajar merupakan rendahnya kepandaian yang dimiliki oleh seseorang dibandingkan dengan kemampuan yang seharusnya dicapai dan disesuaikan dengan tingkat perkembangannya (Marlina, 2019, hal. 44). Secara informal kesulitan belajar dapat dikenal dari adanya suatu keterlambatan dalam perkembangan kemampuan peserta didik. Selain itu, kesulitan belajar dapat mempengaruhi berbagai aspek kehidupan seseorang. Permasalahan yang muncul tentang kesulitan belajar pada seseorang dapat terjadi pada beberapa orang atau permasalahan yang dialami memiliki kesamaan antara satu individu dengan individu lainnya (kelompok) dan ada juga yang hanya mengalami satu macam kesulitan belajar atau permasalahan yang muncul hanya dialami oleh satu individu saja, sehingga pengaruh yang muncul terhadap aspek kehidupan individu akan lebih sedikit.

Selain itu, kesulitan belajar yang dialami oleh peserta didik dapat dipengaruhi oleh beberapa faktor diantaranya faktor fisiologik, psikologik, instrument dan lingkungan belajar. Maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa diagnostik kesulitan belajar merupakan suatu proses dalam menentukan masalah yang dialami oleh peserta didik dalam belajar dengan meneliti terlebih dahulu latar belakang penyebabnya serta menganalisis gejala-gejala kesulitan belajar yang nampak untuk menepatkan permasalahan yang dialami oleh peserta didik masuk ke jenis kesulitan belajar yang mana.

Tahapan-Tahapan dalam Dignostik Kesulitan Belajar

Menurut Roos dan Stanley (dalam Ismail, 2016) terdapat beberapa tahapan dalam diagnosis kesulitan belajar diantaranya sebagai berikut:

  1. Identifikasi kasus kesulitan belajar.
  2. Menempatkan letak kesulitan belajar/identifikasi masalah.
  3. Mengidentifikasi faktor penyebab dan latar belakang kesulitan belajar.
  4. Merencanakan bantuan kesulitan belajar/memperkirakan alternatif pertolongan.
  5. Melaksanakan bantuan kesulitan belajar.
  6. Evaluasi kesulitan belajar.
