Pengertian Model Pembelajaran Pencapaian Konsep

Model pembelajaran pencapaian konsep merupakan model pembelajaran yang dirancang untuk membantu siswa dari berbagai jenjang usia dalam mengembangkan dan menguatkan pemahaman mengenai konsep, serta menerapkan kemampuan berpikir kritis (Eggen dan Kauchak, 2012).
Lebih jelasnya, Joyce and Weil mengatakan bahwa model ini menekankan pada cara memperkuat dorongan dari internal (berasal dari dalam diri) individu untuk memahami sesuatu dengan cara menggali dan mengorganisasikan data, merasakan adanya masalah dan upaya memecahkannya, serta mengembangkan bahasa untuk mengungkapkannya.

Tujuan Model Pembelajaran Pencapaian Konsep

Ternyata, model pembelajaran ini bertujuan untuk:

– Memperkenalkan proses-proses yang berhubungan dengan pembentukan konsep mencakup contoh- contoh atau struktur kognitif serta karaktertistik konsep.
– Membantu siswa memahami konsep dengan memperhatikan objek, ide, dan kejadian-kejadian
– Membuat siswa memperoleh konsep secara efektif dalam memahami stategi berpikir (Imanuddin, 2016;Nurbaiti, 2020).

Kelebihan Model Pembelajaran Pencapaian Konsep

Selain tujuan model pembelajaran tersebut, terdapat kelebihan dari model pembelajaran pencapaian konsep
(Eggen, 1996; Sherman, 1996) yaitu:
– Menambah varian aktivitas dalam pembelajaran dikelas dan meningkatkan motivasi siswa.
– Sangat fisien dalam penyajian informasi yang terorganisasikan dalam berbagai bidang studi.
– Dapat meningkatkan kemampuan untuk belajar dengan cara lebih mudah dan lebin efektif, serta dapat digunakan untuk berbagai jenjang.

Kekurangan Model Pembelajaran Pencapaian

Disamping kelebihan dari model ini, nyatanya terdapat beberapa kekurangan pada model pembelajaran pencapaian konsep yaitu:
– Membutuhkan banyak waktu untuk pembuatan dan
pengembangan perangkatnya.
– Jika jumlah siswa dalam satu kelas sangat besar, maka pengajar mengalami kesulitan dalam membimbing siswa.
– Membutuhkan biaya yang relatif lebih besar.
