Abstract: This study aims to explore the perceptions of principals and parents regarding the role of male teachers in early childhood education. The profession of preschool teacher or educator is currently more dominated by females than male. It is very rare to find male educators in early childhood education, even though the presence of men and women who act as teachers in early childhood education settings will be very meaningful in the balance of gender construction in early childhood. This research uses a case study approach, conducted in a kindergarten in Bandung. This study involves one female principal, one father, and one mother as participants. The results of this study indicate that in the perspective of principals and parents, male teachers have a distinctive role to form adult male figures, assertive, able to position themselves appropriately, and can perform school administrative tasks that require a male role in its implementation.
